Reading scheme used in school
The reading scheme we use in school is called Read Write Inc.
This Literacy programme was developed by Ruth Miskin, published by Oxford University Press and is taught in over 5000 schools throughout the United Kingdom.
Our pupils will focus on learning sounds and the letters that represent them, along with learning how to form the letters. The books that are then read are written using only the letters the pupils have learnt (along with a few separately taught ‘tricky words’) which will help when building up confidence in reading.

Autumn term is well under way! Our next topic will be "Celebrations" and celebrating differences. Other topics we will cover are - "Seasons" "Christmas" and "Family". We hope to continue to access our outdoor area what ever the weather so please ensure your child comes to school equipped with suitable coats, shoes and bring their wellies. Below are just some of the books we will be reading through our Drawing Club lessons.
Homework!! That word all children groan at! However, we will be sending fun activities for you to complete with your child that is related to what they are currently learning in class. It is a great way for you to engage in their learning and gives them extra practice at home. Thank you for your engagement in the homework sent home so far.
